2nd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMMUNITY TRANSLATION (ICCT 2019)

My last conference presentation for 2019 was at the RMIT in Melbourne. I presented a paper on Translating refugee stories. Most of my reserch so far focused on the role of interpreters at the border, in refugee camps and in the asulum application procedurenterpreting for refugees in Macedonia and Hong Kong. However, for this conference I have looked at a couple of community projects to translate refugee life stories (cookbooks and comics) in order to develop empathy and help the integration process for refugees. It helps the refugees and asylum seekers tell their stories to the host population.
